About The Vintage Scribe Bookshop

Hi, I'm Naomi.

I have always loved reading, but more than that I have always loved being surrounded by books. Bookshops and libraries are my happy place. When I was in college, I stumbled into a little vintage bookshop full to bursting with beautiful old books and that yummy old book smell of ink and dusty parchment. I was immediately obsessed and spent as much time in that bookshop as I could between college classes.

That sweet bookshop closed down shortly after my time at college, and I became passionate about one day starting my own cozy bookshop for others to escape into and be inspired to fall in love with books the way I did. Over the last twenty years I have been chasing that dream by continuously pursuing a deeper knowledge of all things books and book collecting. I have attended classes, connected with mentors, created connections within the book collector's communities around the world while filling my own home with beautiful and timeless treasures as I raised my young family. 

Once my kids were older, my dreams began to be able to take root. With a lot of hard work and the incredible support of my husband, Mike, and my family I opened the doors of the very bookshop that my dreams had been holding for so many years. 

Now I have the absolute privilege of spending my days doing exactly what I love- being emersed in the history, the secrets, the knowledge and the timeless beauty that books hold. I am so humbled that all of these years later, I am able to offer up a space so similar to that little bookshop that meant so much to me. I hope this space will inspire a sense of belonging among shelves full of the possibility and comfort of books for all who stop by.
